About Coach L.A. Collier

  

Coach Leverette “LA” Collier graduated High school from St. Mark’s High School where he was a stellar wrestler. Over his high school career, Coach LA won over 100 career wins, was a 3 times State Finalist and a State Champion in 1998.


LA served two years as an assistant and one year as the head coach at Hodgson Vo-Tech. During that time, Coach LA was twice named Assistant Coach of The Year for a team who won 3 State Championships. 


Coach LA decided to go coach at his Alma Mater where he served as an assistant coach for a team who won the State Championship and was ranked top 10 in the Nation.

LA is entering his 2nd season as DMA head coach.


LA is married to his wife Nicole and have two beautiful children.

Program

Beginner Program

Our beginner program will focus on teaching basic wrestling skills. The program will emphasize fundamental stance and positioning in neutral and referee’s position along with essential moves from each position. Escapes, reversals, pinning combinations, and leg wrestling will also be covered.

Advanced Program

Our advanced program will focus on exposing wrestlers to higher level techniques and improving upon their basic, fundamental skills. Instruction will be more advanced in all areas of wrestling with an emphasis on skills identified for improvement. Further skill development on takedowns and takedown counters will take place.
